Male Bullock's Oriole

The Bullock's Oriole, Icterus bullockii, is a small blackbird. They summer and breed throughout much of the western United States. They especially prefer riparian areas, open deciduous woodland, and scrub forest. I normally see 2 or 3 Bullock's at the feeders each year. The female is much drabber in color than the male with a pale yellow body. Photo taken early May 2011.
