Male Black-headed Grosbeak
The Black-headed Grosbeak, Pheucticus melanocephalus, is a medium size, seed eating bird with a large beak. It is a migratory bird, with nesting grounds throughout the western half of the U.S. I usually see 2 or 3 pair in my yard during the summer.
